In Mark Pino's March 30 column, "School Uniform Idea: Hot Topic or Diversion", he suggests that the uniform controversy is being used by the School Board as a smokescreen to divert attention from the other issues facing the district: budget cuts, retirements, and the recent trouble in the Transportation Department. Wonder if he's on to something there...
